By the time fifth period rolls around every day there is only one thing on my mind; food.
Walking down to the cafeteria, I have all the poss ibilities running through my head and the constant mystery of what the lunch special will be. But which one is really the best?
Our school cafeteria offers a large variety of meals everyday, ranging from slices of pizza to pretzels, yet everyday I find myself wondering which one is worth the never ending lines and my five dollars.
While pizza sounds like a good option the un-melted cheese and the luke-warm crust is a bit of a downer. Bizarrely, by the time I am done, I still want another slice. I could on the other hand, join the group of people waiting for a sandwich. This line takes by far the longest but is well worth the wait.
If you are not feeling the pizza or the sandwich, you could always wander over to the much shorter nacho and hot sandwich line. This line usually only takes half the time, but, once again, the cold cheese and the thin burgers do not really hit the spot. The nachos can provide a filling meal, if the lunch ladies give you enough chips.
If you still are not satisfied, there are still two lines left that you could check out, the pretzel line and the hot lunch line.
Personally, I have always been a fan of hot lunch. You never know what will be on the menu and there is always a good assortment of items from which I can choose from. Some days there may be a turkey dinner while other days there could be mozzarella sticks. The menu is constantly changing and it always fills me up.
Last but not least, is the pretzel and smoothie line. If you are running low on cash, but still want something to fill you up this line is your best option. While the pretzels are no comparison to Stamford Mall Pretzels, they are a good value and the smoothies never fail to fill me up.
With so many choices in the cafeteria it is often hard to choose, but when it comes down to it, if it looks good and tastes good, it is good with me.
