The latest classroom tool board, called the SMART Board, has been a big hit throughout the states, including here, at Norwalk High School. A SMART Board was created by SMART technology. The large touch screen board can be operated with a computer or directly on the board itself. Its ease of use has made it a popular fixture in schools and at office meeting spaces. The purpose of the SMART Board is to make teaching and demonstrating easy.
SMART Boards are installed in only a couple of classes here at NHS, but many of them still have whiteboards and chalkboards. Teachers with or without SMART Boards can agree that with this technology, it makes the process much easier to use because you do not have to deal with the writing utensils such as chalk.
In a supportive partnership with the Norwalk community, our mission is to teach skills that will enable students to acquire, access, and apply information. The teachers will foster self-directed learning and good citizenship in a safe environment. All students will be held to high expectations, so they will be successful after graduation.
