As you may have been informed, Stamford High School’s newspaper has now converted to an online only format. Norwalk High School’s paper has taken the same steps to be an online paper as well to be up to date with today’s technology. Although it can now be viewed online, the paper will continued to be printed.
The website is teenager friendly, and has been a great addition to the journalism student’s resources. This is the first time the Norwalk High School’s Paw Print has hit the web and it should be a great success. The site will be featuring constantly updated photographs, and videos relating to school as well as additional articles that the journalism students have written. Each student in journalism has their own links so their articles will be featured individually as well. Mr. Karl, journalism teacher, explained his view on the website, “After four years of students printing their articles, I decided I wanted to be on the same level as the other schools in the area and believed that our students at Norwalk High are more than capable of producing an maintaining a website that’s as good or better than anyone else. There are over forty students in journalism and they produce at least an article a week, a website is the best way to get their work to the public. In addition we hope to have videos and photos that show life at Norwalk high school.”
In a supportive partnership with the Norwalk community, our mission is to teach skills that will enable students to acquire, access, and apply information. The teachers will foster self-directed learning and good citizenship in a safe environment. All students will be held to high expectations, so they will be successful after graduation.
