How the Bears Make Their Mark
Every day we hear about someone being diagnosed with some kind of psychological disorder. Whether it be depression, ADD/ADHD, OCD, or anything else of the sort, someone always seems to have it. What I would like to know is, how can we all be so screwed up? How can almost all of us have something mentally wrong with us? My answer is, a lot of us do not.
In our day and age, it has become almost a trend for a kid or an adult to go to a therapist. While I do not disagree that many people might need someone to talk to, I do not believe that everyone who goes to a therapist has some kind of disease, yet that seems to be the case.
Several years ago, if a child was disruptive in class, he would get in trouble and “learn his lesson”, but now, if a child doesn’t pay attention he is sent to a therapist and diagnosed with ADD. It is ridiculous.
I personally have just started seeing a therapist, at my mother’s request. I know I do not have a mental disorder, otherwise I would have known by now. Yet, when I told her I get bored easily when doing work and move on to other things, she immediately asked if I get distracted easily and if it is a recurring problem.
Our world has become so obsessed with finding a reason for all of the faults, for blaming them on something we can’t control, like a psychological disorder. I am not saying that no one has them, because obviously people do. I am saying that we can not take every fault we do not like in ourselves and have someone tell us that we do those things or have those faults because of some sort of chemical imbalance.
If people just realized that we are human and we all have faults, then the realization that not every person in the world has a disorder will soon follow.

Monday comes that means that it’s the start of a new week and that also means coming back from the weekend. That affects a lot of people. Some people are tired on Mondays. Some of you may be asking how you beat Mondays. What I do to beat Mondays is make sure I have a good night of sleep. Be positive if you think positive good things will happen if you think this day will go by fast it will. If you think negative it will go slow.If you don’t pay attention to the time and do your work it will go by extremely fast. This works for some people have a special treat for your self for Mondays. If you have a favorite snack that you like have it on Mondays. It will make everything feel a whole lot better. I find that all of those things work for me of course everybody is different though. Go out in the sunlight the sun tells the body that it is morning time and resets the internal clock. Try drinking low caffeine drinks to help wake your self up don’t drink too much though too much caffeine is bad for you. I would pick the drink that has the lowest caffeine usually on the bottle or can it will tell you the caffeine content. Fight the tiredness and make a to do list for your school day it will keep you a lot more organized with your school work for when you have study halls. For some people when you exercise you get the energy going because when you exercise you are getting your blood pumping. However becareful though how much you exercise too much of it and you can hurt your body. Finally eat breakfast if you have the time if you don’t than you can grab something from the vending machine like a pop tart before class may not be the best option but it will give you energy.
It is my opinion that being required to obtain a pass to be in the library is annoying; we are young adults and should be allowed to go to the library without a pass. Only the students who demonstrate maladjusted behavior should be required to get a library pass. The limitation of students allowed in the library at one time can be irritating, because if a student arrives at an inconvenient time, the student may be sent back to class, and the same thing might happen in an hour, the next day, the day after, after, and so on. I do not need a pass for the library when I have open end, which I appreciate, but it seems like a teaser, showing how convenient it would be to not need a pass at all. I love to go to the library, which is nice and quiet; the library is the place where I have no trouble thinking peacefully. They should reconsider the library system again. They should allow students to go without a pass, or, perhaps, give students a library card to show to the study hall teacher like open end; it would make things a whole lot easier, in my own opinion, and would save a considerable amount of paper. The study hall teachers would be happier, focusing more on their own work instead of issuing library passes, and students can spend more time working and studying as well.
I am brown. A simple golden brown, a nice color no doubt but nothing special. Contrary to my own beliefs, many people are enamored with this skin tone. Something about this constant tan that came with my genes makes many people green with envy.
Not only have my peers envied my complexion but more and more people are attempting to copy it. Whether it is with tanning booths, tanning lotions, tanning sprays, or just lying out in the sun, people seem to be willing to go to any lengths to achieve that perfect golden brown. These various facts bring me to ask, what is pretty about being tan?
Facebook has become widely popular in a short amount of time and thousands upon thousands of people use it everyday, but is it being overused by some people?
There are many people around the world who find it necessary to update their status almost every hour of every day. To be frank, it does not really matter to me one way or another whether you are “loling at Dodgeball [the movie] right now.” It is so infantile and useless for people to update their statuses like this nonstop.
If you only update your status once or twice, in a span of a couple weeks, than you are most likely not obsessed with Facebook. My status rarely ever changes unless I have something important to say. For instance, if my favorite basketball team won a championship, my status would be “Go Heels!”
Another factor in classifying someone as obsessed with Facebook is if you see that they become fans of anything. Some of the things people have become fans of are “flipping over the pillow to the cool side,” “If your name starts with A, B, C, D, E, J, K, L, M, S, T then you’re cool!!,” and “I hate it when you walk outside and a giraffe kicks you in the -----” to name a few.
The last group is especially ridiculous. When in the world would a giraffe perform such a pointless action and why would anyone become a fan of this or have this occur to them? This is one of the unfortunate flaws of Facebook: pointless groups and pages.
The last part that makes a person obsessed with Facebook is if they consistently comment on everyone’s status or “like” it. The last thing that I am worried about is that you like Joe Shmoe’s status that he saw The Hangover.
Users of Facebook that find it necessary to comment on every person’s status, picture, or whatever it comes out to be are obsessed with Facebook and there is no denying it. Even if they say, “Oh I just saw it on my News Feed,” you saw it on your news feed and you still commented on it.
People who feel the need to constantly tell people what they are doing are insecure about themselves. They believe that by putting what they are doing out there for everyone to see it will make them feel better about themselves. In reality, it does nothing but make me think less of you.
There was a craze that went through Facebook a couple of years ago called “25 random things about myself.” In one of the random facts about someone, it said, “I’m writing this list for sympathy and attention.”
Proving my point, some users even admit to putting useless information about themselves in order to gain attention from everyone and anyone. The real way to tell someone about yourself is in person, not through an online website. That’s how people become shy and are unable to make new friends easily.
